BRINGING FRIENDS TOGETHER

Supporting Culture in our Community

Columbus Historical Preservation Trust is proud to host a variety of events throughout the year to encourage fun and fellowship within the community. Whether it’s a family-friendly movie night, presentation about local history, grand gala, or the annual dinner theater presentation, CHPT events are a wonderful way to make new memories or experience new things. CHPT events are open to the public and all are welcomed to attend.

UPCOMING EVENTS

“Community Roots” Online Auction

CHPT is proud to present the “Community Roots” Online Auction — the official kickoff to our 140th anniversary celebration of the 1886 Stafford Opera House!

Every great community is built on strong roots — shared history, familiar faces, and neighbors who show up when it matters. This auction is our chance to come together, celebrate what makes Columbus special, and raise funds to preserve it for generations to come.

All proceeds benefit CHPT’s Save Our Opera House capital campaign, supporting the continued repair and restoration of the historic 1886 Stafford Opera House. Every item has been generously donated by local businesses and community supporters, meaning every dollar bid goes directly toward preservation efforts.

With something for everyone, the Community Roots auction is also a great opportunity to find one-of-a-kind gifts just in time for Mother’s Day and graduation season! To participate, create a free account on the auction site to browse the catalog, place bids, and sign up for email alerts so you never miss an update or get outbid. There’s no cost to register — just a chance to support one of Columbus’s most treasured historic landmarks.

Auction Details:

Opens: 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2026

Closes: 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2026
